Mr. Andrew

He has owned our hearts since we saw his little fingers and toes on this ultrasound. It was taken the day they discovered the diaphragmatic hernia. I remember coming home and telling Chris what the doctor had told me. We stared at this ultrasound picture and tried to imagine what his life would be like. We had no idea it would be this hard or this amazing.
This picture was taken while he was taking a bath. He loves the bath more than I have ever seen. He can be screaming and the minute we set him in the bath he calms and looks at us. Its magical.

Paternity Leave

Chris paternity leave has been busy and really nice. Thank you Google. We have discovered new places and things each day.

Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos. A real fire engine and a real plane to play on!

Jacob LOVES to read his books.

The most beautiful thing in the world.

Jacob is into putting on everyone's shoes. Today he wore these while pushing around his mower.

We explored Willow Glen's downtown neighborhood to find Powell's Sweet Shoppe. It had literally every kind of candy. Plus these cool movie seats in the back, with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing.

Jacob and Andrew love eachother. Can't you tell.

Chris' Birthday

We had a nice family birthday party for Chris. He turned 32 on Friday and we celebrated with cheesecake, decorated by the boys with chocolate, carmel and whipped cream.  I think this is my new favorite non traditional birthday cake. Chris said he is starting to feel old. I think he has never been better. Love you Chris.

What being home with 4 boys looks like...

These are the some of the peaceful moments we have enjoyed.

Jacob is in love!

I adore watching Aaron watch Andrew. His face is priceless.

Saying Goodbye to UCSF

Our drive to pick up Andrew was beautiful as usual. I have grown attached to HWY 280. It has provided hours of quiet contemplation.

Time to say goodbye to the amazing people who have taken care of Andrew, and us.

Friends Visit!

Shauna and Mandie came to visit me. It was the perfect weekend. It was only 48 hours, but we haven't spent any time together since we were married, or became moms. 9 years, and only patches of phone or email communications. We had so much to catch up on. Mandie and I are both moms of 4 boys and Shauna is mother of 3 girls.

We spent time at Andrew's bedside, at the San Jose Ballet, at Golden Gate park with my boys, driving to and from San Fran, making cookies during Sunday school, and even fit in an impromptu baby shower at Babies R Us. THANK YOU LADIES. We made a pretty awesome memory.

This is us saying goodbye at SFO.

Andrew is home

Its incredible. Check out these happy faces. Andrew loves it too. He is content to lay in his bed and listen to the boys talking.

Last night was a little nerve racking so we didn't get a lot of sleep. Just like any newborn it will take s couple weeks to figure each other out.

Coming Home...

On Wednesday. Can you believe it? Its real.
