Still snowy here in Michigan

Alex and Aaron love dancing around in the house.

Aaron gets serious when the camera comes out. He is always looking to do something artsy, I think.

February feels like the longest month of the year in Michigan because it is still freezing and we get tons of snow. The good news is we have Valentines Day cheer to get us through. Alex enjoyed making his valentines out of old LEGO magazines. At the beginning Aaron was more interested in stacking pen caps, but later after he received a few valentines, he caught the vision and was on board to make a few.

Great News!

A new baby is on his/her way! We are pregnant and due in late July. We couldn't be happier with the timing on this next baby. We have enjoyed 1 year of no diapers in the house... I don't mind jumping back into it.

Alex and Aaron are both very excited. Alex expresses his excitement and interest more than Aaron, but I have a feeling Aaron is going to make a very good older brother.

We will find out if its a boy or girl in late March so we will keep you posted. As for now, I am starting to feel less sick, but I still don't sleep for more that 2 hours in a row at night. That is something I could live without. Chris is very supportive. This morning as I was complaining about my crappy night, he said "I have no idea how you feel." The waking up every hour happened with Aaron and Alex too. Actually, with both babies I got more good sleep after they were born than before.

What an exciting time!

Dressing Up

Chris and I went to the annual techsmith party this weekend and got all dressed up. It was a great event with amazing food, entertainment, dancing, games, more food. The theme for the night was New York City Black and White. Chris bought a much needed black suit (very hot) and I bought a top and made a skirt. Which I am very proud of because the top was only $7 and the skirt fabric was $4.50 (for 3 yards!)

I will definitely make my skirts in the future. Not only was it pretty easy (3-4 hours) but after I did a couple alterations to the pattern, it fit me better than any skirt I have ever worn. I added 7 inches to the length because I wanted the hem to float over the floor and not even show my feet. Most normal length skirts hike up and that drives me crazy. I also altered the thigh and knee area to be more fitted. Clothes, epecially formal clothes, are not meant to sit down in all night long. The best thing about it - I was so comfortable.

Alex and Chris go Ice Skating

Alex and Chris had some father son bonding at the roller skating rink the other night. Alex came home happy and excited to try it again some day.

I have fond roller skating memories from my childhood. I remember my first time at Skate World in Hillsboro Oregon. I went around the rink like 9 times. I know this because each time I slowly went around the rink I waved and smiled to my parents and thought "Hooray, I survived another lap!"

Skate World became a fixture in my life even into my teenage years. I bought a pair of speed skates and the world of roller skating opened up. Backwards skating, 180s, 360s, I was on those skates a ton.
